WILLIAM IVTH. GAMES CHESS TABLE IN MAHOGANY AND ROSEWOOD
This listing is for a stunning William IVth. Games or Chess Table produced around 1830 and made from a mix of both Mahogany and Rosewood combined with a fabulous marble playing surface.
The top consisting of black and white veined marble squares with an outer band of finely veined grey and pink marble with a further band of yellow and orange veined marble which all balance perfectly. The marble top is set into a stepped frame of mahogany set slightly below the top edge.
The table sits on a canted triangular rosewood column on a triformed rosewood base with a segmented collar with three nicely carved scroll feet with turned roundels, each foot containing original concealed casters.
