WILLIAM IVTH. INLAID FLAME MAHOGANY TEA CADDY WITH 2 COMPARTMENTS & GLASS BOWL
This listing is for a quality Tea Caddy from around 1820/1830. The Top and all four sides are veneered in a wonderful Flame mahogany which has an outer border of pear wood or satinwood with cross banded mahogany with a further fine line of satinwood and ebony. On the front is a ivory escutchen and an original lock, no key available at present. The caddy contains two lidded Tea compartments both with flame mahogany tops and inlay work to match the exterior. There is an original glass bowl which sits in a red velvet lined interior. Unfortunatly this has suffered damage over the years and does have some chips and a small crack but is not realy visible when on display.
