    A fine hand painted miniature portrait of a young lady with a mop bonnet with a ribbon tied in a bow with curls coming over her shoulders and forehead. Really well painted with good observed detail and dating to around 1880/1890. This is the 3rd miniature we believe was painted by the same artist with the style and tone identical. Presented behind glass in an ormolu frame.

Painted against a classical background with a large marble pillar and green drapery, trees and a sky background, signed lower right F.H.Harinier and dating to around 1900. Presented behind beveled edge glass set in a gilt brass frame with a border of flowers and leaves and small hanging ring to the back.

  5. MINIAATURE PORTRAIT BY SIR WILLIAM ROSS 1794-1860

    A superb Hand Painted Miniature Portrait by Sir William Ross of a Victorian young lady with ringlets signed with the initials W.R.who exhibited from 1809-1859 and who in December of 1837 was appointed by Queen Victoria to be Court Miniaturist. The unknown sitter is painted in a three quarter pose length pose looking directly out of the painting to the viewer beyond. Wearing an off the shoulder dress with a large red bow and clasp in the center, the necklace is pick out in gold as is the initials lower left.

The sitter is wearing a dark green tunic with red facing collar and a black stock with gold coloured buttons down the front and a medal with the white cross and red ribbon.
