    This is a lovely hand painted miniature portrait of a very young girl dating to around 1910, named as Marigold and signed by listed artist Phyllis Cooper of Worthing and is one of two miniatures we are listing by this artist, the information is shown on the back of the pendant frame. The young girl is shown wearing a simple white dress with bright blue eyes and short blond hair, painted against a white background with the artist initials on the left hand side. The miniature is presented behind glass in an unmarked silver pendant frame with a ribbed border with cross over knots.

    A most unusual and sensitive miniature portrait of a young girl dating to around 1920 and simply identified as 'Kathleen' painted by listed artist Phillis Cooper and is the first of two miniature portraits we have listed by this artist. All of the information is contained on the inside of the miniature as per our photograph. The miniature has been painted on Ivorine, an early form of plastic which was being used more and more towards the end of the 19th century and into the early part of the 20th century. Dressed in a light blue striped blouse with wide collar, her hair is cut fashionably short for the period and painted in profile looking down. The miniature is presented behind glass in a gilt oblong pendant frame and hanger with a deep maroon coloured backing panel.

    An excellent hand painted water colour miniature portrait of a young lady painted on a celluloid base. This is a German School Miniature which has been superbly painted. Our sitter is a young girl with shoulder length light brown hair with dark brown eyes and wearing a white dress with lace around the edge with a dark blue ribbon. Presented behind glass in an oblong wooden frame, the center carved out and gilded with an ebonised surround AND further gilding around the outer edge and sides.

    A finely painted English School Miniature Portrait of a young lady with grey powdered wig with we what think is a lace wedding veil held in place in the center with a brooch with a border of pearls and a blue stone in the center. The miniature is presented behind glass in an unmarked silver frame with the reverse glass panel inset with an old maroon velvet panel.     A beautifully painted large Miniature Portrait in oil paint of Mrs. Hugh Inglis by miniaturist Mrs. Inez Stanley Edwards and dated 1902. The miniature is painted on an Ivorine base and presented behind glass in an oval gilt pendant frame with a glass stone outer border hanging ring with back inset with a blue glass panel over engine turned design. The sitter is shown wearing a white dress with pearl necklace and earrings and a gold chain. Painted in a three quarter length pose looking out towards the viewer with her hair up-swept and painted against a naturalistic background of foliage and sky. The miniature is signed on the lower right hand side in red, Inez Stanley Edwards 1902. IMPORTRANT: the miniature was not removed from it's frame for photography hence the white light reflections and shadows. The size of the miniature is 90mm high x 68mm wide, the frame size is shown below.

    This is the first of 2 Georgian Miniature Portraits of young children each holding a small flower in their hand painted on a card base. This miniature is of a young dark haired child aged around 2 wearing a yellow gown with a fine lace border around the neck and arms. The youngster is shown sitting on a green cushion with gold tassels painted in front of a window holding the edge of a reddish curtain in one hand and a flower in the other. Presented behind glass in an oval gilt bezel set in a burr wood frame. The size of the miniature is 94mm high x 77mm wide, the frame size is shown below.

    A lovely Hand Painted Miniature Portrait of a young fair haired boy aged around 3 or 4 years of age. An inscription lists the sitter as Allen Pertwee with the artist named as Mabel Jones with the date of 1895. The young boy is dressed in a white wide collard shirt with a frilled front under a blue coat signed above the right shoulder JML 1985. Presented behind glass in an oval gilt bezel set in a blue velvet surround with an outer gilt metal easel frame. The size of the miniature portrait is 56mm high x 46mm wide, the frame size is shown below.
