    A superb Hand Painted Miniature Portrait of a Georgian Gentleman with obvious naval connections. Shown wearing a grey wig with curls on the side, a dark top coat with large lapels, white waistcoat and white cravat and painted against a neutral back ground. The miniature is presented behind glass in an oval double side gilt brooch frame (missing it's pin) with the back panel containing platted hair and gold anchor with entwined initials with outer blue glass surround. THE MINIATURE WAS NOT REMOVED FROM THE FRAME FOR PHOTOGRAPHY HENCE WHITE REFLECTION MARKS AND SHADOWS. The size of the miniature is 65mm high x 55mm wide. The frame size is shown below.

    A lovely Hand Painted Miniature Portrait sensitively painted of a young Victorian girl possibly around 18 years of age. The young girl is wearing a light blue off the shoulder dress with puff sleeves and lace around the square neckline with pearl drop earrings and pearl necklace and with a red shawl around her shoulders. Her hair is set in tight curls on either side of her head and painted in a three quarter pose against a neutral background. The miniature is presented behind glass in an oblong gilt bezel with an oval center with a large gilt mount to the front of an ebonised frame with gilt hanger and ring. The size of the miniature is 42mm high x 33mm wide. The frame size is shown below.

    This listing is for a beautiful and sensitively painted Georgian Miniature Portrait of a young girl, possibly around 11 years of age, the Georgian Miniaturists often painted young children as mini adults with young boys painted with a slight feminine look. The young girl is wearing a simple white dress with lace around the square cut neckline with blue ribbons. Her hair is cut short with a curl on either side and painted against a faded blue sky. The miniature is presented behind glass in an oblong gilt bezel and a papier mache frame with fine gilt hanger and ring. The size of the Miniature is 77mm high x 60mm wide.     Hand painted Miniature Portrait of a Georgian Gentleman painted in a three quarter pose which is simply stunning. A grey haired gentleman wearing a dark top coat with large lapels, white waist coat and white cravat and painted against a dark background. Dating to the end of the 18th century around 1790. A gentleman with confidence and serious nature, looking out toward the viewer and beyond. Presented behind glass in an oval double sided unmarked possibly gold pendant frame, the back panel with platted hair, the back glass panel has a small crack on the left which appears to be stable. THE MINIATURE WAS NOT REMOVED FROM THE FRAME FOR PHOTOGRAPHY HENCE REFLECTIONS, WHITE MARKS AND SHADOWS. The size of the miniature is 62mm High x 47mm wide. The frame size is shown below.

    A superb Hand Painted Miniature Portrait named as Miss Jeanie Boyle of Glasgow painted by listed artist Ethel A. Gibb. Superb quality brushwork, the sitter with masses of light brown hair and wearing a light blue dress against a background that merges with the figure and fades out,very skillfully done with the artists initials on the right. The miniature is presented behind glass in an oval ormolu bezel set in a blue water marked silk surround with applied gilt wreaths and swags and in it's original ormolu frame with a pediment of a wreath with trailing leaves. The easel back has a green leather covering with brass hooks to secure in place when not in use. The size of the miniature isn73mm high x 52mm wide. The frame size is shown below.

    A beautifully painted Miniature Portrait of a young lady named as Mrs Durham and dating to the Regency period, her age would be around 19 or 20 years old. The young lady is wearing a dark red off the shoulder dress with a fine lace border around the top. She is also wearing a jet necklace with a gold cross and a gold brooch in the center of her dress with a fur wrap around her shoulders. Her hair is set in tight ringlets on either side of her head and painted in a three quarter pose against a dark background. The miniature is beautifully painted with a slight blue tint to the pallet, fine precise and confident brush strokes. This portrait is of a young woman named as Mary Margaret Morris the sister of William Morris who was wounded in France during the First World War and later died of his wounds, named as William Inman Morris aged 24. Painted in men's apparel, cross dressing in the Edwardian period was far more common than is thought of normally. Presented behind glass in an ebonised frame with gilt hanger. The painting is stunning with the face painted in fantastic detailed brushwork, her hair is in typical Edwardian style where lady' would wear their long hair gathered up on the top with some loose curls over the forehead. She is posed just as a head and shoulders portrait with the lower part of her white dress just fading to nothing.
