    This listing is for a pair of Hand Painted Miniature Portraits painted on Celluloid of a Husband and his Wife, dating to around 1920. The husband is smartly dressed in a blue seat, waistcoat, shirt and tie, with his wife wearing a dark blue dress with a double strand of pearls both painted against a sky background. Both are presented behind glass in gilt pendant frames with boarders of crossed knots and fine fluting. The size of each miniature is 72mm high x 62mm wide. The frames sizes are shown below.

    A superb Hand Painted Miniature Portrait of a young smartly dress gentleman dating to around 1910 or possibly a little earlier. This is the second of three family members all painted by the same artist, this one we think a copy of an earlier late Victorian painting. The young man is shown wearing a dark grey suit and waistcoat, wing collared shirt and cravat with a stick pin. Presented behind glass in a gilt pendant frame with a boarder of cross knots and fine fluting. The size of the miniature is 72mm high x 62mm wide. The frame size is shown below.

    An excellent Hand Painted Miniature Portrait of Bonnie Prince Charlie of historical interest dating to the end of the 19th Century. Better known as Charles Edward Stuart, he lead the last Scottish uprising in 1745 ending in a terrible defeat for the prince and his army at Culloden Field at the hands of George II. Presented behind glass in a later gilt oval pendant frame with hanging loop. The size of the miniature is 48mm high x 38mm wide, the frame size is shown below.

    This is a lovely Hand Painted Miniature Portrait of a young Edwardian lady on a milk glass base dating to around 1910 or possibly a little earlier. The young Lady is painted in a head and shoulder pose turned away from the the viewer and looking over her shoulder. Her hair in a typical Edwardian style, brought up on the top of her head with a blue ribbon and bow in the center. Wearing a pale blue dress and a double strand of pearls around her neck. The miniature is presented behind glass in a pendant frame and held in it's original light brown travel case with gold tooling.

The miniature sits in an ivory frame which has been stitched to yellow silk panel with a heart shaped narrow ormolu surround, this has an outer shark skin matt sitting in a superb ormolu Heart shaped surround with an easel back.

    A superb Hand Painted miniature Portrait we believe is that of Lord Louis Mountbatten 1900-1979 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma. The pictorial information we have reviewed makes us fairly certain to be that of Lord Mountbatten, uncle and mentor to Prince Charles and dating to the 1930's shown in full navel dress. Presented behind glass in a gilt pocket watch style frame and comes with the original leather covered travel case. The size of the miniature is 62mm high x 50mm wide.
