18TH CENTURY CHINESE HAND PAINTED TEA BOWL WITH WAX ANTIQUITIES STAMP
This is the first of two Chinese pieces of hand painted porcelain dating from the 18th Century with what appears to be Chinese antiquities department marks. The Tea Bowl has set into it's base a wax seal with impressed characters. The bowl is beautifully painted with decorative motifs, stylised bats and calligraphy. The bowl has a slight turquoise hue and as to be expected contain small inclusions in the glaze picked up during the firing process. The foot rim is unglazed and the tea comes with an associated hand carved hard wood stand.
