JAPANESE IVORY MEIJI OKIMONO FIGURE OF A FRUIT SELLER
A very Fine Japanese Meiji Period (1868-1921) sectional Okimono carved figure of a Fruit Seller who is holding in his hand I think a peach or similar soft fruit.
There is a signed red plaque built into the base which carries the signature of the carver.
The carving is delightful with a lovely smiling expression on his face, there are numerous engraved leaf carvings on his tunic on both the front and back, also on the base.
