JAPANESE OKIMONO FIGURE OF A N OLD MAN
C.1880 Meiji Period (1868-1912) Ivory carving of an old man with a wooden staff in his hand. This is lovely detailed carving with good colour and patina. Although it has some damage it is certainly a worth while addition to any collection of okimon's. The staff he holds is a replacement, and his left hand has been glued in place. There are missing toes to both feet and something missing from his right hand also traces of old glue on the base. It is signed on the base by the artist.

A very Fine Japanese Meiji Period hand carved sectional Ivory Okimono figure of a Woodsman carrying an axe in his right hand with a basket of wood on his shoulder and a water gourd on his hip. The Okimono is signed to the base. he is in excellent antique condition, a little yellow in colour and some ingrained dirt but complete. No obvious missing items and no splits in the figure.
