A PAIR OF CARVED WOODEN PIN CUSHION BOOTS

These are a superb hand carved and painted pair of wooden high boot Pin Cushions. Possibly from Belgium or the low countries and produced around 1900/1920. I am not completely certain on the date but would not think much later than 1920. They are stained and painted with mother of pearl buttons to the front with coloured beads either side. They have carved bone heel and sole pieces added with pins. The cushions are a red velvet with a maroon braiding. There are some beads missing to the front of one of the shoes and a few chips in the bone sole of the same shoe. These are country crafted pieces so any inconsistancies would be acceptable, all in all a very unusual but collectable pair of Pin Cushions.
